Caelum

[My post is the weird way it is because I copy and pasted my starting post from the other Caelum roleplay on Solia. YAY LAZINESS. If any references were made to that roleplay (names of specific characters, etc.) and I missed it, please tell me.]

At times like this she wished she drank coffee. Apparently it gave people
energy, but she had never liked it. Though she could use energy. And
something to drink. She'd have to ask for tea later or something... if any
servants bothered to show up.

Er, anyway. She dragged herself out of bed and climbed down the ladder
leading from the platform where her bed was to the main floor of her
tower. There was nothing in there but her dresser, her mirror, and her
window seat. (The window over there was the only source of light in the
tower.) There was also the two doors, one on each side of the room, one
leading to the throne room and the other leading to a staircase. (That
staircase leading to another door, which led to a random hall.)

Her room was totally uninteresting... on the surface. Apart from the old
King, nobody knew about what was under her room. If somebody knew where to
look, they'd find a hidden door on the floor, opening up to another
staircase. Going down to the bottom of the tower, one would find what was
basically the control room for all of Caelum. She ran everything from
there... indirectly. The collar around her neck allowed her to control
everything from anywhere.

Not like she went anywhere. That was Serena's main problem with her life
here... apart from the lack of room service whenever she actually needed
it, and those princes. She didn't have anything personally against them,
but she barely knew any of them. Especially considering they hadn't known
she existed until the old King died. Died, and left her alone...

Of course she expected it by now. She was the only Immortal, so everybody
around her was going to end up dead at some point. But he was the only
person she'd been close to in a long time, so... it hurt her. Knowing he
was gone, knowing he'd been replaced by his eldest son...

She didn't like to think about it.

She was more annoyed by staying here now than she'd been before he died.
At least back then she had somebody she could talk to about anything. (Not
like there was much to talk about.) Lately, because of this, she'd sit and
stare out her window, as she did right now out of boredom, wanting out of
this tower. Out of this castle. Out into the city she'd helped create, the
city she ran all the time... Just for one day.

Was that so much to ask?

Serena had been thinking about nothing in particular when her collar suddenly beeped and she heard the door to the hallway opening. It closed soon after, and she blinked, looking over to the door that led to the staircase. "Maybe it's a servant..." she muttered to herself. Or that annoying young prince. she added mentally. Though for some reason she felt that neither guess was correct.

And, well, she was right.

She walked over and opened the door, walking down the stairs, and saw... some girl she'd never seen before. Serena tilted her head. "And who are you supposed to be?" she asked after a few seconds. "Servants enter through the other door, and you're obviously not a prince."
